The current house is a stunning example of Victorian architecture with original feature fireplaces, walls adorned with rich oak and a spectacular staircase, which all provide a beautiful and unique canvas for any event.
Steeped in history and once owned by Jane Seymour’s brother Edward, Elvetham has hosted many royals throughout the years including King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. During the Queen’s visit in 1591 Elizabeth I planted an oak tree which still stands tall in the grounds today.
Whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner for a private celebration or a large birthday for up to 200 guests there are a number of private rooms to choose from all with stunning original features and beautiful views of the surroundings. The Elvetham also benefits from 72 elegant bedrooms which make the perfect retreat following an evening of delicious food and fine wine.
Not only is the country house available for private diners and celebrations, but it also hosts weddings throughout the year from intimate ceremonies of 50 guests to extravagant celebrations of 120 or more. Renowned for the spectacular display of Christmas decorations during December, the main house is turned into a magical Christmas wonderland with walls adorned with decorations and an impressive 18ft Christmas tree in the stairwell. For anyone wanting to enjoy a festive feast and an evening of entertainment, The Winter Conservatory is perfect for private and shared Christmas party nights and also plays host to the highly-anticipated New Year’s Eve ball.
